At Design School, we were always taught about juxtaposition – meaning, two opposites placed near one another. We see it in many aspects every day, especially around food: hot and cold, sweet and savory. It revolves around the ‘opposites attract’ mantra – a yin and yang scenario. However, this photograph done by Celine Clanet is breathtaking… and is the perfect example!
Look at the way the structured, angular stone wall sits against the natural curves of the mountain and the small ripples of the water. The companionship works in this photograph, creating two nearly equal parts that work in harmony together. Stunning.
